Pepe Diokno tells us that during a Q&A after one of the movie screenings, this insight came from a viewer on the recurring theme of the country’s bad luck or kamalasan. “They said the film shows three ways of dealing with kamalasan, says Pepe. “For Zamora, you disconnect. For Gomez, you treat it with grace and dignity and stoicism and just accept. For Burgos, you rally against it and shout at the top of your lungs what’s right.
