He was ordained a Deacon in December, 1975 in the Oratory of St. Ignatius, Loyola House of Studies by Most Rev. Gaudencio Rosales, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila. The presbyterate followed in the same chapel by Most Rev. Amado Paulino, Auxiliary Bishop of Manila, on 13 March 1976. His co-ordinands were Frs. Rene Javellana and Pablo Cavan.

Fr. Mak spent his first years as a priest at Arvisu House Pre-Novitiate (1976-1982), along Katipunan Road in Loyola Heights. While there, he was Assistant Director (1976-78), Assistant Vocation Promoter of the Province (1977-82), Director of the Pre-Novitiate (1978-82), and a Guidance Counselor at Ateneo de Manila High School (1977-82).

He also did some counseling updating at the Jesuit School of Theology in Berkeley, California and parish ministry (1983-84). He returned to Manila in 1985 for his longest assignment (18 years), in the Jesuit Residence as he worked in the Province Vocation Promotions Office (1985-91) and in AdMU’s High School Guidance Office (1985, 1997-2002) and Chaplaincy (1994-97). It was in the High School that he pronounced Final Vows in St. Stanislaus Kostka Chapel on 22 August 1990.

In 2003 Fr. Mak became Minister at Xavier House in Sta. Ana, Manila while serving as Assistant Chaplain at the Philippine General Hospital (2003-09). From 2009 till his death, he did parish ministry at Mary the Queen in San Juan. He died unexpectedly in his sleep at the parish rectory, on 27 December 2018, nine days after his 80th birthday. He would have celebrated his golden jubilee as a Jesuit in 2019.

His birthdate is listed as 1938 so he turned 80 (not 79) this year.

Further, in the tags below, it says born 1939. Which is which? 1938 or 1939? 79 or 80?
